Get to Kunming by Air
Kunming Changshui International Airport 昆明长水国际机场
Airport is located 24.5 km northeast from the city center in a mountain-ous area about 2,100 meters above the sea level. Now, airport has only one terminal, which is the second largest terminal after Beijing Capital International Airport T3.Airport transportationAirport Shuttle Buses: there are 11 buses No. 919 going to different places in the city (A from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, A1 from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, B from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM, B night from 6:00 AM to 2:00 AM, B1 from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, C from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM, C night from 5:00 AM to 2:00 AM, C1 from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM, D from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, E from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, K from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM), each bus costs 13 CNY for the ticket. 1.Kunming Railway Station 昆明站
Kunming Railway Station is Kunming`s main railway station, about 4 km from city center. It is located on the Shanghai-Kunming Railway, the Chengdu-Kunming Railway, the Neijiang-Kunming Railway and the Naning-Kunming Railway. 2.Kunming South Railway Station 昆明南站
Kunming South Railway Station is the main high-speed rail station of the city, western terminus of the Nanning-Kunming High-speed Railway and the Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway. Getting around Subway
Kunming Rail Transit, or Kunming Metro (昆明地铁) has 4 lines in operation, it`s still developing and has 5 lines under construction and another 5 lines proposed. Ticket price starts from 2 CNY to 8 CNY depending on the distance.
Bus
Kunming has developed a complete bus system consisting of common buses, BTR buses (Bus Rapid Transit) and special line buses. Bus lines cover almost every corner of the city. Ticket price starts from 1 CNY to 2 CNY in urban area, and from 6 CNY to 12 CNY in suburban area. The operating time for most bus routes is from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Taxi
Since there are about 7000 taxis in Kunming, it`s easy to get it. Taxi fare starts from 8 CNY for the first 3 km, then 1.8 CNY for each 1 km. If you take a taxi after 10:00 PM the price is going to change, it will start from 10 CNY for the first 3 km, then 2.4 CNY for each 1 km.
